Invitation to a Tabata week

Hi all!

Would you like to do a week of Tabata starting Monday? If you have the time and the inclination for some long workouts. I won’t call it a challenge because Tabata (the original 8 sets per exercise) already sounds intimidating enough. Let’s call it an experiment ;)

Sorry I hogged the themed-week idea from the community challenges and then took all the fun out of it by excluding any voting, but hey what can I say, I’m a party pooper (or a control freak) :P

Actually, I didn’t think many of you would be interested in such a thorough torture, but I won’t know until I ask, right? SO - It will be hard and maybe not even much fun. Care to join me? :D

Anyway, I’ve made a mix of Tabata style videos I could find to fill a weekly structure like this

Monday – lower body strength and core - https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/lower-body-toning-workout-56-minute-butt-and-thigh-tabata-workout

Tuesday – upper body strength - https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/upper-body-tabata-workout-intense-60-minute-back-shoulders-and-arms-workout

Wednesday – core/total body HIIT - https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/hiit-and-abs-workout-63-minute-ab-and-cardio-workout

Thursday – cardio and lower body strength/toning - https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/cardio-lower-body-toning-44-min-better-booty-tabata-workout-with-yoga-cool-down-and-stretch

Friday – core/total body HIIT - https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/total-body-tabata-workout-45-min-hiit-and-toning-routine and extra credit kickboxing (not Tabata but couldn’t resist some kickboxing :)) - https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/fat-blasting-at-home-cardio-kickboxing-workout-video

Saturday – optional total body/lower body level 3 - https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/bodyweight-cardio-workout-interval-cardio-training (“only” 4 reps each), or total body level 2 restorative stretching - https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/restorative-yoga-pilates-workout-to-improve-mood-and-circulation-relaxing-stretching-workout to get a break from all the tabataing… or both, or nothing. Everything totally optional.

Sunday - rest

The shortest workout (not counting the optionals or EC) is 44min, the longest 63. Levels 4 and one 5. Daunting! I haven’t done much Tabata, compared to other FB workouts, especially not recently, but I do remember a great feeling of accomplishment after going through those endless repetitions. I just don’t know how doable it is 5 days in a row, we’ll see. Would you like to try it with me? Everyone at their own pace and listening to our bodies of course.

I’ll post a reminder on Sunday, and start daily check-ins on Monday. Join in if you’d like, or keep your fingers crossed! Btw, not that it matters why, but I’m doing this to see whether I’m ready to tackle FBFit2. I figure if I can handle a full week of Tabata, all other hour-long workouts will fly by. It’s all about adjusting the perspective :)

Cheers
