Daily Check-in: Monday, January 14th

Ah, Winnie The Pooh. Always knows just what to say.

Hello Blenders, and Happy Monday (or Tuesday) to you all!

How are you doing today? Did you have a good weekend?

Did you see that K & D released a new workout video yesterday?! OMG YAY! Here's the link to the video:

https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/30-minute-lower-body-hiit-and-upper-body-strength-total-body-workout-combo

It looks like a great combo, and I can't wait to try it!

I'm gonna have to wait a few days to try it though--caz my legs are sore!

We had a no-internet day yesterday, but I felt really good and wanted to a try a workout. So I busted out one of my ol' DVDs (yes, I still have exercise DVDs. And VHS tapes too, if I'm being totally honest lol). The one I did was a Powerstrike workout with Ilaria Montagnani (more specifically it was Bodystrikes #3). It's kickboxing, but this particular one is all kicking--like an hour nonstop of different kicks (no water breaks either! whew!). I love Ilaria, she's super tough, but she still seems very down to earth. Anyway, I remember this workout being super hard, and I could hardly keep up the last time I did it (which was several years ago, I think).

But guess what? Not only was I able to keep up, but I was actually able to move faster than the DVD people! It was kind of an awesome feeling, because I often feel like cardio is my weak spot.

So I worked up a good sweat, was able to move quicker, and do all the kicks without stop. I totally believe that working out with K & D and doing the programs that I've done lately (Strong and Abs Rd 2), made a big difference in my cardio ability. So thanks again Kelli and Daniel, caz I couldn't do it without you!

And the whole point of this rambling was to tell you that I have very sore legs today, and won't be trying the new workout quite yet haha. But I can't wait! And if you guys have already, or are going to, try it, let me know! Tell me how it went for you, and if you liked it!

(Also K & D, if you're looking for even more workout suggestions, I'd love to see an all-kicking lower body intensive kickboxing routine! That'd be so awesome!)

And with that--let's talk about today's workouts! Are you guys working out today, or are you resting?

I'm gonna get my #WorkoutCompleteForK&D with an upper body kickboxing routine! More specifically, this one:

https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/intense-hiit-cardio-kickboxing-and-upper-body-strength-workout

Because it's all upper body kickboxing and weight lifting, my legs should be alright!

And what about some good food goin on today?

I'm thinking I want some kind of casserole, or hot dish. I've got butternut squash and spinach, so I might make some kind of veggie lasagna out of it? There's actually an FB recipe that I wanna try for butternut squash lasagna:

This looks and sounds really good, so I think that's what's happenin for dinner here tonight!

What about you guys? What's on the menu for today?

Talking about food and healthy eating, Erse has started a Healthy Eating Challenge, if you'd like to join in! Here's the link to her post for more info:

I think this is an awesome idea! I think it's a great way to get started on eating for health and wellness and for just feeling better overall! So good luck to everyone who's joining in!

And with that, I think I far exceeded the rambling quota for today!

I hope you all have a fantastic day, and thanks so much for checking in with me!

Now let's make like Pooh & Piglet today, and get stronger! You got this, Blenders!
