Confused with workouts

Hey guys! Lately I have been hearing advices from experienced fitness persons and most of them advices me the same thing. My main goal is to have slim legs, free of noticeable cellulite, and muscle with little or no jiggle (besides being healthy etc). They told me to stop strength training or at least heavy weights and try more body weight, Pilates, running, basically a model-designed work outs. Everytime I figure out what I have to do to progress, something comes in the way and confuses me even more and stresses me. I’m sure many of you can relate! Growing up I was never muscular or doing exercise, I was never overweight but never active in order to build muscle. After research, I understood that only strength can give me shape. Pilates and body weight exercise I always thought, are from people who already had toned body... What do you think?
