Are the "bored easily" workouts just as effective as others?

A lot of FB videos only do one set of a particular exercise ("bored easily"), and I was wondering if this was just as effective as their regular ABAB format strength videos to build muscle and tone up. Recently, I've been choosing a lot of the "bored easily" videos, and I want to make sure I'm training in an efficient way. My goal is to tone up and also lose a little weight.
