Elliptical trainer

Hey guys,

I'm currently doing FB Sweat, but since I like strength training so much I was thinking about doing FB Strong next. Also because I think it'll be hard enough during the summer to workout in the heat without the brutal HIIT sessions!

But I do have a simple elliptical trainer (gathering dust atm) and I was thinking I could add some cardio or HIIT to a strength training program like Strong when I feel like it. (maybe a 20 minute HIIT session in the morning or later at night when it is cooler - or a longer cardio session while watching a show or something).

Are any of you adding this type of cardio to strength a training program? Is it a good idea? Tips for working out on an elliptical?
