Dumbbell question

I'm gearing up for FB Burn, but I suppose this is really a question for any of the programs involving dumbbells. I know the Powerblock is recommended, but I can't exactly afford that at the moment. So how many dumbbells would I need to progress and challenge myself over the course of the program?

I already have 5 lb weights (and not going to lie, even those can feel heavy to me after a while), so I was thinking I should probably have 2 more sets of incrementally heavier weights? Any recommendations or advice is appreciated!
