Getting back to working out after birth.

Hello everyone, I finally made the decision to start getting back into shape since I gained quite some weight during my pregnancy. My son just turned 4 months and I have a 2 year old daughter too. My question is: during my labor with both my kids I took the epidural and ever since my lower back has been having some spasms. When working out, I try my best to do the workouts properly but I can feel that my lower back is really weak. Have any of you ladies that had babies have this issue? How can I or did you overcome it?
