Workouts that are suitable for injury recovery?


A couple of weeks ago, I made the mistake of overworking my upper quad and I ended up with a really uncomfortable muscle strain. I've been to the doctors, and I've done everything that I've been told, which in turn also subdued the pain completely.

Now I'm interested to find out what I could actually be doing; what lower body workouts can I do that can help me build up that strength, but still not put that immense pressure on the legs? I know it may sound contradicting, but I want to start somewhere low impact and still work those lower body muscles!
