Strength 2 day split

Hi,

I can currently only dedicate two workout days to strength workouts at the moment.

I've been struggling to decide between two total body sessions and one lower and one upper a week.

I thought I might try an unconventional option and alternate the two (two total body one week, 1 upper and lower another week). I'm not sure if this would be detrimental to progress in any way and wondered if anyone had any thoughts. For extra context, I'm 41 year's old (I know there are different guidelines for this age group - perimenopause etc).
