Runner Program for Race Training

I would love to see a program that is specific for runners training for races. A lot of the programs are 5-6 days a week of workouts which seems way too much when you are upping mileage for a long race. My thoughts would be runner specific strength 2-3 days/week with an optional 1 or 2 recovery/stretching videos. Honestly I'd just be happy with 2-3 workouts a week though! Thoughts??
