I'm a 52 year old woman who is at the start of perimenopause. I have need to modify a number of workouts because of a bad ankle (cartilage, tendon, ligament and bone damage over the years--arthrodesis surgery will be necessary in a year or two). As I age I understand/know that it's important for women to strength train to ensure they maintain good bone density and ward off osteoporosis. I would like to know more about how I should approach this. Is it about lifting heavy? Is it about frequency (how many times a week)? What exercises or movements qualify? I know you have developed programs for pregnant women, for people starting out with exercise in general, etc. Is there any chance you'll be putting together Programs for women in my category with our special needs in mind? Thank you for all you do--I love FB!
