FB Shift Complete (ish)!

(NB: I skipped a few workouts in the later part program due to illness.)

FB Shift was designed with those going through peri/menopause in mind, with a focus on resetting, retraining, and reframing. Instead of the typical five workouts a week with an optional recovery day on day six you'd see in a lot of the other programs, there are eleven- or ten-day microcycles with different mental focuses for each (awareness, embracing change, tackling cognitive distortions, and radical acceptance).

Done as-is, Shift lasts six weeks. In my case, after a buttload of rescheduling, I finished it in just over nine.

Although I like the overall idea of the program, I think the unconventional structure of it (along with the length) got to me a bit, which meant a generous use of the "reschedule" button, and after I got to about the two-thirds or three-quarters mark, it started to feel like a slog. But I wanted to finish it, soooo... 🤷🏻‍♀️

Most of the workouts are at the low to middle part of the intensity/difficulty scale, with a few 4/5 workouts in the second half of the program. Five of the workouts involve HIIT, the majority of which are low impact.

I don't doubt Shift has helped a lot of women, looking at the mostly positive comments on the program's page (https://www.fitnessblender.com/plans/fb-shift-6-weeks-of-strength-pilates-active-recovery-hiit-reset-retrain-and-reframe-your-fitness), but it wasn't the one for me.
