This routine is a great option for returning to movement after a hiatus (due to injury, vacation, or just needing a break) and is also a “deload” active recovery workout option after a phase of moderate/intense training. For whatever reason you choose to do this workout, focus on moving your body intuitively and solely for the sake of movement – we’re not pushing any paces and we’re not aiming for highly elevated heart rates!
As I mention in the video, workouts like this feel like a gentle massage (via gentle movement) for my achy muscles. I also use sessions like this to evaluate (remember, feedback not judgment!) how a rigorous block of training has affected my flexibility, range of motion, and movement fluidity from one side of the body to the next.
