Need some hope, and inspiration please

I have always been super active my entire life up until a few years ago when I started experiencing severe cervical spinal pain. Was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease, spinal stenosis, arthritis, etc. in 2019. Most recently my lower back was wrecking havoc as well, and same thing down there. I couldn't walk in April, and was in ER. Took weeks to get better. I used to run marathons, sprint tris, lift weights, and was super active, I'm now entering depression due to limited movement without pain. I want to strengthen my core, workout again, and I have NO IDEA where to start or what to do. My Neuro says not to exercise or do anything that causes pain. SO I'm supposed to sit around? I'm lost. Anyone out there with similar issues that can give me hope. Thank you.
