New Plus Workout! Postpartum Core Strength Progressions

Good Morning Fitness Blenders!

Today’s release is an intermediate core workout with the postpartum body in mind:

Postpartum Core Strength Progressions

As a Pre/postnatal Fitness Specialist I often get asked the question “when is the right time to do ab exercises like planks and crunches again?” What I’ve found is that there’s a big, gaping gray area between gentle core recovery work and the traditional core work most of us are familiar with. If we jump right from one to the next without a gradual build, it can be risky for our core and pelvic floor. And, there's no "right" time when your body will just be ready for all the things it used to do (I.e. planks and crunches).

I created this workout to serve as the ‘bridge’ between the two, helping to gradually build your deep core and pelvic floor muscles so they can endure greater load and manage pressure effectively. Within the workout there’s still a strong focus on syncing up our breath with movement, similar to the postpartum core and pelvic floor recovery series; we’ll also be including some crunch and plank variations.

Finally, I want to add that this routine could be a really nice option for those who want a less intimidating approach to building their core strength. Any and all are welcome!

(As a funny side note, my postpartum hair regrowth made it's appearance to truly bring this experience to life! I was 8 months postpartum at the time of filming and you can see some baby hairs sticking up on the side of my head 😅)

I’m excited to hear how this goes for you! Let me know if you’ll be joining me.
