The correlation between corticol and estrogen in menopause and how exercise could contribute to high cortisol

Hi, I am a menopausal 54 year old and in the past year although I exercise faithfully 3-4 times a week (HIIT and Strength) and don't eat poorly I packed on 15-20 pounds in the past year, mainly around my midsection. Nothing I do is helping and this has never been a problem for me in the past. I am reading that my increased cortisol levels and decreased estrogen are likely to blame and I need to "do things differently" but I'm not getting good advice.

I love HIIT but there is a huge cortisol response with that. So I am looking for SOUND advice on what I need to do differently to see results again. Thanks so much!
