50plus

I just added this post onto a question on the expert article about exercise at age 40 and beyond, and I thought I'd share it overhere too:

As I'm struggling with my menopausal body and more specifically the way that my body recovers (or better said: doesn't 😉) from workouts, I was searching the internet and found this recommendation:

- 2x total body strength a week (recover at least 72h)

- 2 to max 3 times interval training sessions no more then 45 min in total!

- additional mobility work can be done daily, and low intensity walk or bike rides wherever it fits

For the intervals, there's been a recent study for women over 50 that showed positive results when they were doing intervals on a bike 8 sec high intensity, 12 sec rest. Total workout time 20 min including 10 min warmup 5 min cool down

In fact, this type of interval training is highly recommended!

I'm going to try this. Unfortunately the FB programs are not that suitable in this case, and I own a lot of programs 😔 but there's the opportunity to make my own routine!

However I would love a program based on this workout structure 🙏meaning total body strength two days, short sprint interval max three, mobility woven in
