Deadlifts and back pain


I've been working out with fb for the last 5 months. I've done 4 different programs and until recently, I haven't missed a workout. 3 weeks ago, I got to the point where I was in so much pain, I had to stop working out. My back is much better and I'm starting my workouts again on Monday. I'm worried about deadlifts affecting my back again and was wondering if there are any alternatives? Thanks!
