How effective are 15 minute workouts if you do them multiple times a day?

So, lately, due to exams and the homework our teachers have been piling on, rightfully so because we have critical A-levels coming up, I haven't really been able to workout. So I've hatched a plan to carry on working out, without having to sacrifice sleep or study time. I read somewhere on FB that you could do short workouts multiple times a day. But I don't really know how effective that would be, seeing that my main goal is weight loss. Have any of you tried this method? Does it work? And how many 15 minute workouts can I do in a day without it being overtraining? Can 15-minute workouts, done multiple times a day, be as effective as doing regular 30-50 minute workouts every day?
