Deadlift form

I'm working through my second FB program and have some concerns about my deadlift form. I know FB tends to advocate for a straight leg (but not lock kneed) deadlift, but I find most all of the work (and residual soreness) is then in my lower back - is that expected with this form? Should I be bending my knees more if I want to work my legs and glutes? Thanks!
