Weight training and calorie burn

Hello everyone,

I am a big fun of strength training, as I really love this feeling of accomplishment you get while lifting. Still, I have a question/mild concern about it; for quite some time now I had been relying on the calorie burn indicator provided by FB. However I recently bought an activity tracker, mostly to keep track of the calories I burn during the day and most importantly during work outs. I was negatively surprised to see that in spite of my efforts in the amount of weight I am lifting, I always fall rather short on the calorie burn scale, often finding myself barely making it to the lower end of the FB calorie burn indicator. Sometimes, when I feel more energetic, I make up for it by adding a small cardio routine on top of the weight training of the Strong FB program. My question is therefore twofold: a) am I doing something wrong during strength training and that's why my calorie burn is rather low? b) is it overworking if i add a cardio routine on top?

Thank you in advance for any reply!
