What kind of work out for injured hip?

Hello, I have recently over strained my hip joint. Sharp pain all over from my butt to the outer thigh. I want to continue work out but I am unsure of what kind of work out would help my current situation. Just a few days ago I can barely even sit or stand. I am feeling a lot better now though, just thought I should take it easy? What kind of work out should I do?
