About You

You bring a vital, invaluable combination of serious social media management acumen together with a passion for fitness and healthy living. Even more, you have a special affinity for, and understanding of, Fitness Blender and our particular (amazing!) community and ethos. You’ve gotten more Workout Completes than you can count (at least before FB Plus stats and trackers!), have followed and contributed to our social media and community engagement, and you love to encourage others to live happier, healthier lives, and recommend Fitness Blender to anyone who will listen. Now, you’d love to help take our efforts to the next level by helping manage our social media and Community platforms, working with us to reach as many people as possible to achieve their health and fitness goals.

Scope of Role

As social media and community manager for Fitness Blender, you will use your experience and education to help develop, implement, and manage a creative user engagement and outreach strategy for a global audience. You may or may not have experience in a role this expansive, but you are hard working, willing to learn, and eager to collaborate. Your primary focus will be to engage the Fitness Blender community, across multiple social platforms and our website—highlighting content and features. You will collaborate closely with various members of the Fitness Blender team, including content creators, our web and customer service teams, and leadership. We will depend on you to keep your finger on the pulse of what the Fitness Blender community is saying, what questions they are asking, what content and features they would like to see, and interact with them in a genuine, positive way. One of the funnest parts of your week will be running our Community Giveaway.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Help develop, implement, and manage our social media and community engagement strategy
  • Develop weekly/monthly social media and Community schedules, utilizing social media management tools (e.g., Buffer, Sendible) and Fitness Blender’s website admin pages
  • Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging content daily (will include during and outside of business hours), with particular reference to best practices for SEO and web traffic / engagement metrics, both for social and onsite content
  • Monitor website Community and social channel activity, including implementation of weekly Giveaways
  • Remain up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends

Related responsibilities (working closely with Content Team Lead), as appropriate:

  • Provide copyediting support for all content on website and social media
  • Define, monitor, and report on most important social media KPIs for our needs/strategy
  • Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
  • Ensure all content (text, graphics, and video) is creative, professional, and appealing
  • Propose, develop, and implement impactful social media campaigns
  • Utilize graphic design and video editing skills relevant to social media

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, or other relevant field
  • Relevant, defined experience leading social media and online community engagement for a company/organization with a broad reach
  • Have detailed knowledge of Fitness Blender, including our ethos, content, and features
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills
  • Established ability to apply creativity, organization, and efficiency to social media efforts
  • US based and legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Available, reliable high-speed internet connection for transferring large files and participating in video and text communication

Have (or are willing to acquire, through training):

  • Skills related to the latest tools and technology for social media, graphic design, digital content creation, etc.
  • Some facility with data and data analysis, particularly as it relates to social media engagement Marketing (traditional and digital) skills
  • Experience with, or willingness to expand skills in graphic design and/or video editing
  • Keen understanding of the competitive space with an eye on helping us create deeper engagement and trust
