Protein Shakes? Yes or No?

I've been working out pretty consistently for a month (and a half ish). Recently I was given a protein shake by a relative and I was in all honesty was intrigued by the label. It claims to have 30g of protein and 24 vitamins and minerals. I haven't tried it yet but will it be a good addition for my healthy eating? Or is it just a gimmick and unnecessary? Or even harmful maybe?
