I'd like some input about working out in a fasted state.
Currently, my routine is waking up at 4:45 AM and sitting under light box for 45 minutes. (I have Seasonal Affective Disorder). While I am sitting under my lamp, I drink water (and coffee), catch up on the news, etc. After my 45 minutes are up, I do a 45-60 rigorous power yoga practice. I get through it feeling energized, accomplished and ready to face the day.
I have tried to do a hiit/kettle bell/strength training workout in place of my yoga about 3-4 times in the past 6 weeks. I felt like I was going to die. Each time it has been a ~20 min. workout. I'm not so much tired as I am nauseous with dry heaves. I can do these types of workouts later in the day after a meal, but on an empty stomach? No way.
So I was wondering what I could eat in that 45 minutes under my lamp that will be quickly digested and ready to use for my workout? I'd like to tackle my FB workouts in the AM, if possible.
Thank you for reading. :)
