So I wanted to give my family a little more traditional style pizza than yesterday's Power Green Pizza.
Today I made a deep dish round - 15" round by 1" thick - oh yeah!! Hey, I found a use for my husband's gargantuan cast iron skillet! 😄
I made a white whole wheat crust topped with a white sauce, caramelized onions, caramelized mushrooms, a little mozzarella, a sprinkling of Parmesan and fresh basil. The white sauce was made with lebneh and garlic. Lebneh is kinda like a Middle Eastern cream cheese.
Such a wonderful flavor combo! My son declared, "Amazing!" I'm so happy I regained my kitchen cred after yesterday. 😆
