Reached a Goal

Today I hit a milestone I have wanted for a long time.

I always wanted to run a faster half marathon (sub 2 hours, my best is 2:08). I decided to set small manageable goals to get there. The first was to run 5km in under 30 minutes. I've always hovered around 30-33 minutes. Today, without having run 5km in months, it just happened. Finally 5km in just under 28 minutes.

The feeling of hitting my mini-goal is fantastic and makes it seem like the bigger goal is maybe possible. My next mini-goal is to do that time regularly and then start to work on the 10km in under 1 hour.

Achieving this goal shows me that all the HIIT, strength training, pilates does something. I could not have done this without the help of FB and the encouragement of the community. It is so inspiring to see other people meet their goals. I hope everyone is having a happy Sunday, I know I am!
