Strength training- kg lifted

Hi everyone,

I've been religiously listening to Kelli and Daniel, that is, to lift as heavy as I can. I am a 52 year old woman and can lift 9 kg per hand for any exercise and am up to 12 kg per hand for the deadlifts. And I do love it. However, a couple of years ago, I read a book entitled "Strong Women Stay Young" by a doctor named Miriam E. Nelson who said that there was a limit for lifting free weights and according to her, I shouldn't go beyond what I am already doing. Not that I am ready to....at the moment, I'm happy with the weights I'm lifting. But is there a limit for free weights and for women? I ask this because I am considering powerblocks and the only ones I can find in France are the 24 pound ones...and I'm wondering if they will suffice. If I need to limit myself, they will probably be fine (though possibly a bit light for deads) but if I continue to push myself, they may not suffice. Advice anyone? Many thanks and have a good day y'all.
