Just a couple of photos from today's mushroom harvest (top: Chanterelle mushrooms - Cantharellus cibarius - drying nicely in the oven; bottom: Yellowfoot mushrooms or Winter Chanterelle - Craterellus tubaeformis - waiting for their turn). Spent about two and a half hours in the forest, breathing in the scents of autumn and getting a taxing "workout" for the lower back with bending every now and then to pick, feet at the strangest positions to spare the tiny mushrooms peeking through the moss. Looking forward to some well-deserved lower back stretches before turning in :-)
We already enjoyed some of our catch fresh, with pappardelle pasta, and the rest will be dried and kept in our pantry to last us through the year until the next season.
