Jesse's Motivational

What drives your passion?

How do you burn when the embers catch? Every rep costs you a little more, bringing you closer to that burn. But before we can revel in it, we have to stoke it.

When you wake up in the morning, is it there waiting for you or is it burning low? About to gasp its last and begging to be reinvigorated, to be fed? Those of us who have to feed it are left wondering how - Motivation seems to come and go. It seems as if you have to fool yourself into believing there's more fuel to go around than there is.

What you need to do is breathe. Breathe deep and know you have what you need to catch fire. You've got oxygen, and you've got desire. No flame has ever been struck without purpose, without a desire. Without a need for that fire to burn. It isn't motivation you need, because you have a desire. You have that need. You have passion. We all have passion, and whatever that passion is you gotta pack it up and bring it with you everywhere you go. You don't chase it, it follows you, and you bring it to bear on everything you do.

So I want you to breathe deep, and look square at what it is you're trying to accomplish. Face it down and attack it. Every mile you want to run. Every pound you want to life. Every rep you spend inside that burn, every strike, each step towards your goal. Because when that fire catches, it isn't motivation that's burning. It's your desire. It's that passion, that drive. It cannot be destroyed, but it'll burn hotter than motivation ever could. Motivation is a by-product of passion.

Attack it with your passion. Because it isn't just you getting stronger as you revel in the burn. Your passion grows as well. Feed it, nurture it. Remember why you're there, why you're standing in the flame. Because you're forging the future you want. Brighter. Stronger. Heat treated and quenched. All you have to do is answer that question for yourself.
