Bike shorts for workouts?

So my beloved leopard print leggings are in their final days.

Has anyone tried wearing unpadded bike shorts for workouts? They would be the perfect length for me, and I’m guessing they wouldn’t ride up due to the elastic at the hem? I used to wear the padded version while mountain biking trails, but haven’t for any other activity.

Just curious if they’re comfortable for HIIT, yoga, etc.. and if so, what brand/style.
