Does it really matter WHEN you eat?

Dear FB community,

I've had a question on my mind since I noticed that Kelli often says during the cool down that you should eat a healthy meal or substantial snack as soon as possible after a workout. I do my workouts at the very end of the day. Is it worse for strength training and metabolism to just shower and go to bed versus eating something after? I eat plenty during the day.
