Intermittent Fasting?

Hi there! I'm wondering if anyone out there in the community had thoughts about intermittent fasting. Seems like a big trend in the industry right now. From what I've heard, it's backed by research showing that SHORT periods of fasting can help with fat loss, and may have other health benefits as well (e.g. increased lifespan). Has anyone tried this approach? Pros? Cons? Is there any research out there showing that is not a good idea?
