Working out with sore knees

I've started to have slight pain in my knees. It's nothing major but I can feel it slightly when I put pressure on my knees, for example going from sitting down to standing up. I just don't want it to get worse but also want to continue exercising. I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks and really want to feel great for it so I feel confident in my swimming costume.

For today I have an upper body strength workout so that should be fine.

I was thinking of not doing any HIIT and maybe kickboxing for cardio. I do also walk my dog so maybe that would be enough. Where do I stand on lower body workouts because I don't really want to be doing squats and lunges but don't want to neglect the lower body.
