“Sugar craving” idea. Energy bites!

Hello everyone!

I’ve seen some post on here about substitutes, or ideas for sweets/sugar cravings; so I thought I’d show y’all some energy bites I like to make for when I want a treat! I thought maybe it would be helpful to those doing the sugar detox with EJ, too if y’all are craving something sweet. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I like how good these can taste just by using things like dates, and no added sugar. I’ve definitely trained myself to be less of a sweet tooth, but of course; I still want something sweet every now and then, (especially chocolate!) so I like to eat these. (Still in moderation, though. I usually can’t eat a lot of sweets at once anyway, or I feel gross.) I found these off of Pinterest. There are tons of recipes, so I’ve just been saving and trying all sorts of kinds.

Top left ones: I added a little bit of turmeric and lemon zest, too. I also recommend not adding as many chia seeds. At least in my case it was a little too much seeds.

Bottom left: I didn’t add the water because I used fresh cherries, and I also added cinnamon, and oat flakes.

And... The bottom right ones didn’t turn out as planned. They weren’t bad, but it was supposed to be like a breakfast cookie sort of thing, but they turned out too peanut butter-ry. It wasn’t my favorite recipe anyway, so I tried changing it up some but... it just wasn’t that great. I’ve made others that are good, so I’ll share if I find a better one.

Does anyone have any tips on how to make them not too runny/sticky? Some of mine turn out that way, so usually I’ll just freeze them and it seems to help. I also realized today that if I wet my hands a little they wouldn’t make such a mess. Has anyone ever made energy bites?
