How sore is too sore?

I just started the two week program, and its day 3, but I'm so sore that its hard getting up from a seated position, or taking my shirt off. I know that some soreness usually goes away after you become more acclimated to your workouts, but is there such a thing as being too sore? I know I'm not injured, but I'm wondering if taking a day off will help the soreness, or just make it worse when I start up again tomorrow?
