Happy Wednesday!

I am waiting for the weekend, People are crazy at work. I don't know what is going on but I am avoiding the water.

I probably did not mention it before, but after our holiday visiting family this summer I revamped my meals for the week. I have always been good with meal prep. but decided to take it up a notch (or down, depending how you look at it). I started counting calories. Mostly to get an idea of how was I fueling myself. I was more interested in fibre and protein and seeing what I am getting and where I can improve. It has been more than two months and combined with what I am doing at the gym, I have seen changes. Nothing really changed at the gym, maybe even I work out less than before. I have a waist line again, my back is more sculpted and those lovehandles are almost gone. Shirts and bras are fitting better. I feel the bulge of my lats instead of flabs. My lower body has not changed a ton, but I am also building muscle, So that is fine.

My breakfast is oatmeal, with fruit, chia and sometimes nuts, or nut butter, cinnamon or pumpkin spice spice mix, a protein shake (vegan, no sugar) and water. This is keeping me quite full. I no longer need to measure things since I have figured out the volumes.

Lunches are more basic, saves me time too. Usually it is chicken (since I do not eat beef or pork), huge portion of veggies (this week is broccoli) and a portion of carbs (bulgar, quinoa, rice, potato). These components I still weigh because I want equal portions.

My dinner portions have gotten smaller but I do not really measure them. The focus is veggies, then protein and adding in the other bits after.

Weekends are a bit looser. I still drink a protein shake but there is less measuring going on. I am allowing myself to still enjoy a sweet treat or a couple glasses of wine and I think this is important to the success during the week.

I don't really count calories anymore. Sometimes I do put things in to see where they sit. But now I know enough that I can trust myself to make good decisions. I am also not allowing myself to dwell.

It seems like a big change, but actually it was easy. The first couple weeks took some more planning but now it is easy breezy.

Sorry for a long post, but maybe you find it interesting.

Take what you need today from above. I wish everyone a whimsical Wednesday!

P.S today will be a run since I started super early at work. There will still be daylight! My core and upper body are sore from yesterday!
