Monday at HKS (with added Pals), November 2nd πππͺπ₯π²πΆ
Hello blendfriends, welcome to the Monday thread (though I'm writing this up Sunday night). We're having a mild start to November here, with that special autumn sunlight lower on the horizonπ The time change brought an earlier sunset, but I was already inside with a good book πClearly I've got my hygge on early this year! Of course needing rest and fluids so I can get over this virus meant I was going to spend some quality time with couch and pillows anyway ποΈ
Workouts are mainly physioπͺ these days, no sense wearing my body out. As for food, we had "comfort stew"π² this weekend, and I've got a nice batch of spicy chickpea soup for cozy lunches. I do enjoy a good soup, and having hot food is one of my favorite things about fall. At the same time, it's peak kale salad season, too. My kale keeps going well into December, and I make all kinds of salads π₯ with nice fall flavors like apple, carrot and cranberries added in.
I noticed a trend this weekend to feeling perfectly miserable (and I'll definitely keep your experiences in mind when scheduling my immunizations), so here's a thought for us, from Michel de Montaigne:
βWe must learn to suffer whatever we cannot avoid. Our life is composed, like the harmony of the world, of discords as well as different tones, sweet and harsh, sharp and flat, soft and loud. If a musician liked only some of them, what could he sing? He has got to know how to use all of them and blend them together. So too must we with good and ill, which are of one substance with our life.β
So here's to blending it all together, and finding the harmony in our lives πΆ May you all get a good start to the week.
