A late monsoon season seems to have started here, lots of thunder and a little rain for three days in a row. Historically, the monsoon season was July through September with frequent rain. It’s concerning when a desert dries up. Our average moisture is 9 inches a year when we’re not in a drought.

The El Niño is supposed to bring more moisture. I hope so.

Yesterday I did Erica’s knee friendly lower body and it’s a good workout.

I had Sourdough zucchini pizza for dinner on Thursday. On Friday, we’re heading to Albuquerque to go to the temple, and we’ll see my youngest son on the way back.

Cultural highlight: is everyone familiar with American state fairs? They started out as agricultural exhibitions, but they also have lots of carnival rides, vendors, and food booths. I think they could be equated to some of the markets of Europe. Anyway, there are strange foods at state fairs. For example, fried butter or fried candy bars are often highlights. Yesterday, I saw a news blurb about all the pickles at the Michigan State fair such as savory pickle, pie and pickle pizza, so if anyone’s looking for a dinner idea, you’re welcome.
