Monday at HKS (with added Pals), August 10th πŸŒ±πŸ§‘β€πŸŒΎπŸ˜πŸ’ŽπŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ

Hello everyone, welcome to your regularly-scheduled Monday. This is the Healthy, Kind Support accountability group, and all are welcome please feel free to read and to post about your workouts and other healthy concerns. My workouts today were lower and upper-body foam rolling. Yesterday in the garden πŸ§‘β€πŸŒΎ we cleared out two areas. In one, we planted the trumpet vine cuttings 🌱 and in the other, a small new plot between the white currant bush and the black raspberries -- the rhubarb should grow a bit more with the added sunlight in its new location, and it will have "elephant" 🐘 hostas and a hydrangea paniculata for company. I wasn't too sore, actually, despite all that, but yesterday's foam rolling did me a world of good and I wanted to double down before total-body strength tomorrow. It won't do me a bit of good to push forward too hard, I have to accept my body's need for recovery, mobility, and TLC. And in that spirit, here is a thought for today:

When we give ourselves compassion, the tight knot of negative self-judgment starts to dissolve, replaced by a feeling of peaceful, connected acceptance – a sparkling diamond that emerges from the coal. (Kristin Neff)

I'm a bit dubious about the geology of that πŸ’Ž, but I do feel peaceful and accepting πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ. Now I'm off to work, wishing you all a wonderful start to the week!
