HKS (Healthy, Kind Support) Accountability Group August 8th
Good Saturday morning!
I slept a bit better last night, though I had really weird dreams. The kind where a dog turns into a capybara (I LOVE capybaras!) and eventually into a plastic Christmas reindeer in separate parts.
At least I am feeling a bit refreshed and sound of mind, enough to do some online research about low ferritin. I never knew the difference between hemoglobin and ferritin, and why one can be normal and the other, low. I will get the iron supplement that the nurse practitioner prescribed today and start taking it tomorrow morning. I read that I should avoid dairy within two hours of taking it, but I always have a glass of milk with my breakfast, so I have to figure this out.
I’m also reading about how to eat to improve ferritin levels, the goal being not to have to take iron supplements forever, though I know that’s a possibility. I’m trying not to worry about this diagnosis and actively doing research. Worrying doesn’t help.
Anyway, enough about that. Let’s talk about what plans you have for this weekend. I’ll do some housecleaning today. David is exhausted after taking Bilbo out to go potty overnight, so I think I’ll be the only one doing any housework today.
Since I seem to be feeling less tired this morning, I want to continue the FB Anywhere challenge. It’s a low impact cardio and core workout from Kelli, I should be able to manage it.
I’ll also be tackling a couple of small projects: sewing up holes that Bilbo has already created in two stuffed toys, putting together games to keep him occupied and challenge his mind (one involves tearing an old t-shirt into strips and stuffing them into a ball with holes), and transferring the music from my phone onto my computer, to free up space.
Tonight is movie night and it’s my turn to choose. I’ll go with the final movie in the Downton Abbey series. Which reminds me that we’ve run out of popcorn kernels, so I’ll buy some while I’m out.
Hope everyone will enjoy a great, worry-free Saturday 🙂
