I often heard trainers talk about easing into a stretch. E.g. for a 60 s stretch start with a more shallow range of motion for the first 30 s then after easing into the stretch explore a deeper range of motion.
I always felt like this doesn't really capture my experience with stretching. I often feel fine starting with a stretch, but then holding it for longer I sometimes have the tendency to cramp up and have to lessen instead of deeping my range of motion.
Can anyone relate to that and do you think it indicates certain motoric features? It's not big of a deal or giving me major issues. I find it interesting though that my own body seems to work somehow different than the trainers' verbal cues suggest.
