I’ll be honest, whenever I start a new program, there’s always a part of me that wants to skip ahead and see what’s coming later. What does Week 4 look like? Which workout is going to be the toughest? How am I going to feel by the end?
The older I get, the more I’ve learned that’s usually not the best approach.
So if you’re looking at the calendar and wondering how you’re going to make it through the next 30 days, my advice is simple: don’t worry about Day 30 yet. Let’s just focus on Week 1.
This week is all about building a foundation. We’re not trying to prove anything. We’re not chasing personal records. We’re simply showing up, getting some good work in, and establishing a rhythm that we can build on throughout the challenge.
One thing I really like about this week is that everybody brings something a little different to the table. We’ll start by building strength and endurance in the lower body, then Patrice takes over with an upper-body workout that follows the same theme, creating a nice balance in the first 2 days. Kayla helps us reset mid-week with mobility, stretching, and core work before Erica keeps us moving with an endurance-focused cardio workout. Then Tasha wraps things up with a total-body strength and HIIT workout that should leave you feeling ready for a couple of recovery days.
As you move through the week, don’t get too caught up in the weights, the reps, or whether you’re keeping up with anyone else. Focus on learning the pace of the workouts, finding your rhythm, and putting in the work one day at a time.
That’s really all we’re after this week. One workout at a time.
