Monday at HKS (with added Pals), May 25th ๐งโ๐พ๐ง๏ธ๐๐ช
Hello everyone, welcome to the start of a new week! Please feel welcome to read and to post here, we're always happy to chat.
I'm headed back to work today after taking a nice staycation last week, after which 90% of my garden plot is planted, fertilized and mulched๐งโ๐พ. I'll be putting in the summer squash this week and then it will just be adjustments, planting companion herbs here and there, but the literal heavy lifting was last week. And my muscles are thankful for that! In case you're wondering what kind of a workout you get planting a garden bed, there are lots of squats, a fair deal of lifting, hinge, farmer carry... I found a blog post that gives some detail at https://bluestem.ca/garden-health-and-wellbeing/your-garden-workout-is-already-hiding-in-these-five-natural-movements/ And of course, I'll add today's (anonymous) thought : "Gardening is an exercise in optimism." Gardening has even made me love the rain๐ง๏ธ. Sometimes in recipes there is 'preparation time' followed by 'no-work cooking time', and gardening is just the same. Rainy days are 'no-work growing time' for me. So while others may have been disappointed by a cold, rainy Sunday, I could see that it was entirely unsuitable for gardening, but perfect to curl up with a book ๐ and take a blissful rest day๐๏ธ!
After that, I finally feel up to doing structured workouts again. This morning I'll do Kayla's mobility stick warmup and probably Patrice's burner of an express strength workout with light weights๐ช.
How's the day looking for you? Have you framed it to your own satisfaction? I know some of our pals are enjoying a holiday, so I'll wish you as much enjoyment and satisfaction as I got from my time off!
