Menopause and positivity

Hi ladies,

Maybe an odd question here, but does anyone have some good or hopeful stories to share about menopause and staying active or athleticism? I’ll be honest that the overwhelming majority of what I hear from women in that season of life is incredibly negative. I’m not saying the changes aren’t difficult, but as a woman nearing it in a few years I’m finding myself really dreading it or feeling like the active lifestyle I’ve led for years will soon be over…because so many women portray it as so bad.

I’m an avid hiker and cyclist (weekends only due to work) and train a mix of heavy lifting, pilates, yoga, and HIIT during the week. I stay on top of my mobility/stretching and recovery routines as well. My career is in physical therapy, mostly geriatrics with a lot of ortho and neuro. I always hear from women who see my activity levels, “Oh just wait until you hit menopause.”

Ugh!

Anything good to share…anybody? Haha
