Pregnancy and Hip Dysplasia

Hello!

I am looking for fellow hip dysplasia people to share their stories and experiences of pregnancy with hip issues.

I’ve struggled with hip and joint issues since my early twenties and recently had surgery to repair a labral tear in my left hip (I also have another tear in my right but I’m putting it off as long as possible - what’s another 10 years right!)

I have a very woolly hypermobility spectrum disorder diagnosis but the main thing is that I am in pain every day with various wear and tears, ongoing, and random, injuries and stiffness and so on. I’ve taken many years to get moving and build my confidence and movement up from the difficult injuries of my early twenties (thank you Kelli for all your hip content, you helped me move again and I will be forever grateful to you) BUT today I am a Pilates-yoga-barre loving 29 year old - I am in great shape with lots of functional strength (light weights work, let me tell you!) I’m a huge fan of Nicole, Amanda and Kelli’s workout and stability/mobility/pelvic floor workouts are a key focus of my routine.

With that being said, I would love to have a family some day. I’ve already been told by my physio that I’ll need to have specialist hip physio throughout pregnancy but I do think I am starting from a good base. If anyone has anything to share about their own experience (anecdotally of course!) I would be very grateful. 💛💪🏻
