HKS (Healthy, Kind Support) Accountability Group March 28th
Good last Saturday in March! And so another month is almost over.
Spring is not springing much here, as it’s currently -12°C/10°F with the windchill factor. I was chatting with the crossing guard in front of our house the other day and a person in the neighbourhood, who immigrated from Cuba, was telling her how hopeful they were that winter was now over. She had to burst their bubble and tell them that it was not. Thus is spring here in Canada.
What’s on your agenda for today? A busy day or a relaxing one? I woke up around 3am, so I don’t know how productive I’ll be. We’ll do our usual grocery run this morning and we need to figure out better food options for David. From my analysis of what he’s been eating this week, he’s not eating enough vegetables and fruits, and he’s not getting in enough fibre. He is showing a growing interest in his nutrition, which is good.
I also have to catch up on the World Figure Skating Championships. It’s hard to remain spoiler-free. I usually take three days off to watch the event, but I used up a lot of vacation time to watch the Olympics, so now I’m playing catch up.
We’ll be dining out tonight, for our last Saturday of the month date night. We’ll try a new-to-us restaurant nearby. It will be interesting to see how a meal out will affect David’s blood glucose level. Every meal is a learning experience. We’ll walk to the restaurant and back, which should help.
