Hello Blendfriends! I'm posting early because somehow I'm back into a habit of Mondays at the office. For a while I had that sorted in favor of Tuesdays, but not any more. Oh well, meetings are what they are. And there's a silver lining -- Tuesday will be the coldest day of the week, and I'll be working from home then!
And that leads me to a thought for the day :
โLiving well is an art that can be developed: a love of life and ability to take great pleasure from small offerings and assurance that the world owes you nothing and that every gift is exactly that, a gift. โ (Maya Angelou)
This is actually something I practice. Many small things give me pleasure, like coming upon this pine branch hanging across my path in the botanical garden. So green and soft, even in winter! It was a fun walk; after last week's exploration of the alpine garden, I decided to visit the Japanese garden and the taiga/tundra garden today. Things look different in the snow!
As for workouts, I'm returning to a routine I made a couple months ago, with plans to swap in some of the cool new workouts as I go along. Monday's workout is 38 minutes of upper-body barre (or, if short on time, a 16m express barre arms). After a core workout that was surprisingly tough on the wrists (planks and bear crawls), I won't want to be doing anything with heavy weights. This said, a post on the community forum recently made me realize that there is a range of wrist gear out there and I ended up buying a pair of inexpensive "fitness wrist wraps", which stabilize my wrists during planks, bear crawls, pushups, etc. So I'm not -too- sore. How do your wrists hold up between lifting, core and everyday computers?
