I filmed this one on a day when I’d already trained in jiu-jitsu and done some cardio. My body felt worked overall, and I had that familiar feeling of, “I don’t need a whole other workout… but I’m also not done yet.”
That’s usually where workouts like this come from for me.
After jiu jitsu, everything feels a little taxed. Upper body, grip, core — all of it. Not wrecked, just used. I didn’t want to set up a bunch of equipment, think too hard, or commit to something long. I just wanted a few focused minutes to finish the day feeling like I took care of what needed a little extra attention.
That’s something I’ve learned over time, not every workout needs to be all-or-nothing. Some days you go hard. Some days you just move. And some days, you already did a lot, but adding a small, focused piece at the end makes everything feel more complete.
This isn’t meant to replace anything or be the main workout of your day. It’s something you add on when you’ve already shown up and want to round things out a bit. Some days that’s after strength. Some days it’s after cardio. And some days it’s all you have time or energy for, which is completely fine.
I also really like workouts like this because they’re mentally easy. You’re not glued to the clock or stressing about pacing. You’re not trying to keep up with anyone else. You pick weights that make sense for how you’re feeling that day and just move. It feels more like training than performing, which is something I think we all need more of sometimes.
If you’ve had a day where you’ve already moved your body but still feel like something’s missing, this might fit nicely. And if today isn’t that day, no pressure. Having options like this makes consistency easier, especially on busy or low-energy days.
Where do you see this fitting into your day? After a workout, on its own, or not today at all?
Hope you enjoy this one, however you choose to use it.
