The weekend is upon us. Hopefully you've had decent weeks and are looking forward to relaxing. Maybe you're wiped out, have to work, or are unable to escape the demands of life just because the calendar says so. Come tell me about it if you're so inclined; rants welcome and cheerfulness optional.
I see 40 in the forecast for tomorrow, and 43 next week. Further inland will be much worse. At least our hot days haven't been consecutive, and it's cooling down at night. I think some of our Canadian friends are having similar temperatures but with a negative sign in front; while none of us may be enjoying the weather, I do like the symmetry. May we all maintain some level of homeostasis. Remember when talking about the weather was considered boring?
I've been looking forward to some pilates but seem to keep getting derailed with it (them? is/are pilates singular or plural?). Been for 4 walks in the last 3 days so I didn't have to do my chores under the blazing sun. Now I'm tired and my foot is overcooked, but I'm unlikely to do any exercise in the oven. So it/they sit on the backburner. Leftovers tonight while it's not too hot to eat microwaved food; cold salads for the next few days.
Photo is from one of my walks today. This gum tree is a couple blocks from my house and has the most glorious, vibrant orange flowers right now. Tonight it was full of some very loud rainbow lorikeets. I stood there for a while trying to get a good photo, but the birds weren't cooperating and someone was staring at me. Plus I needed the loo, so this is the best I've got.
